Monthly Open Meditation

Wild Soul Yoga Studio will now be offering an 'open-studio' once a month for people to come in, use our props and meditate silently.

 

The inspiration for this comes from Elisa's own experience with meditation, years prior to connecting with the physical aspects of yoga. 

 

Searching for peace and practices that would balance out a hectic lifestyle, she accidentally found a Buddhist retreat center that offered free, public meditation nights. While feeling awkward at first, this proved to be a life-changing routine that spanned a few years of dedicated practices and learning, eventually leading to many other mindful, wellness based changes and ultimately, the opening of Wild Soul Yoga Studio. 

 

WSYS wants to offer this same opportunity to our yoga community and beyond in an effort to give people a place to sit still, in quiet and to decompress from hectic lifestyle. 

 

Every month, we will offer an open-studio hour, where people can come in, sit, meditate or just peacefully ponder whatever comes up in the mind. For the first few months, we will gauge attendance and feedback to see how we can serve you better. By May of 2020, we'd like to have a formal plan in place that offers this same opportunity more regularly and consistently so you can make it a part of your peace routine.

 

We welcome your comments and suggestions on timing or other ways we can make this offering more accessible within reason and around our existing class schedule. 

 

DATES & TIMES:

 

Thursday, January 23rd  6:00-7:00pm 

Wednesday, February 19th 7:00-8:00 

Wednesday, March 23rd 7:00-8:00

 

 

Considerations:

 

-Please arrive on time and no later than 5 minutes past that evening's start time.

-Silence or turn off ALL devices and store in cubby before settling into spot.

-There may soft, instrumental music playing or white noise to cut down on urban distractions,

-You are welcomed to use any of our props as long as you return them neatly afterwards.

-Plan to stay for the full hour. Coming and going is distracting to other practitioners.

-Every participant is welcome to practice any form of silent, seated meditation.

-Mala beads are available for use, please ask.

-Instructors are volunteers and there to help make you comfortable and welcome guests. They are not leading/guiding/instructing during this hour unless otherwise noted.

-All participants will be checked in, must sign a waiver (online or in-studio if new to WSYS) and provide a valid email address. 

-Courtesy and respect for fellow practitioners, studio property and all aspects of this experience is of the utmost importance. Inability to arrive on time, being disruptive in any way and/or other affronts to our expectations and other's comfort/property will result in being asked to not return. 

-This is a free event as a courtesy and way to make meditation available to ALL. Cash donations are always welcomed and very much appreciated.
