Monthly Yoga Nidra Class

January 3, 2019

Based on the large turnout and positive feedback of our New Year Nidra, along with past offerings throughout the last year, we will now be offering Yoga Nidra once a month on a Tuesday from 7-8:15pm.

This is a donation based class meant to be accessible for everyone, although we do ask that participants be at least 15 or older due to the very relaxed nature of this type of meditation.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practiced in Savasana as a way to access specific brainwaves to help discern distractions, Nidra also encourages more restful sleep and decreased anxiety. Pre-registration is encouraged and appreciated. For more information on what Yoga Nidra is and how it works can be found on various sites such as MindBodyGreen, Yoga International, Huffington Post as well as academic and medical resource websites.

Here is an editorial posted in the HuffPost in 2017. While some of the author's claims are opinion based, this is a well rounded gist of the practice, understanding that the instructor's personal style, approach and themes may differ.

Upcoming Dates:

June 18th, July 16th, August 20th

Since this is a donation based offering of which will require resources and time, at least 5 people will need to be registered in order to hold the monthly class. We reserve the right to cancel this class based on low registration and so it is important to sign up in advance.

Unless otherwise noted, Elisa Piscitelli will be guiding the Yoga Nidra sessions. Her experience includes leading Chan meditation retreats and sessions, practicing Yoga Nidra as well as full day workshops/trainings with Indu Aurora  during the 2017 Minneapolis Yoga Conference. These formal trainings in addition to research, practice and other applications has helped her lead these practices effectively and with positive response from the communities and private clients that she has been working with.

Private lessons are available for those who may have difficulty being still in a group setting or for those that have a specific concern that they'd like to approach. Please email Elisa directly for more information on private and group sessions. elisa@wildsoulyogastudio.com
