Elisa Piscitelli E-RYT

Owner/Lead Instructor

Elisa first began practicing yoga in 2004 while pregnant with her daughter and loved everything the practice afforded. But, as so many do, she took extended breaks to focus on raising her children, working full-time and being overall "busy". In 2008 she stumbled upon a Buddhist meditation center and attending group meditation and retreats immediately became a regular part of Elisa's routine. She was eventually trained in leading meditation retreats, alignment, methods and time keeping which she has shared in many forms over the years.

Meditation helped inspire Elisa to get back into the physical practice of yoga and in 2011, she enrolled in and completed a yoga teacher training program and is currently registered as an E-RYT (Experienced yoga teacher) at the 200 hour level with Yoga Alliance. Aside from basic certification, she has participated in the Anatomy Principles course led by Leslie Kaminoff, co-author of Yoga Anatomy and co-founder of The Breathing Project in NYC. Additionally, Elisa has participated in many other continuing education trainings, retreats, workshops and conferences on topics and practices such as Ayurveda, Reiki, Vinyasa flow sequencing and much more.

Prior to opening Wild Soul Yoga Studio, she enthusiastically taught classes and workshops at studios, schools and locations around Orange County, NY including involvement as an instructor and mentor for yoga teacher trainees.

Early in 2014, Elisa and her family came face to face with the devastation of her husband's cancer diagnosis which he eventually succumbed to in 2016. She knew her lifestyle and profession would need to change dramatically in order to be an effective caregiver and attentive parent to her two children. Within 6 weeks of closing the door to a successful career in corporate advertising, she opened the door to Wild Soul Yoga Studio.

It was yoga, meditation and community that sustained her as she transitioned through many new responsibilities and emotional waves over the course of the last few years.

Elisa is the owner, daily operator and lead instructor of Wild Soul Yoga Studio and instructs not only multiple studio classes per week but also private lessons, retreats, workshops and special events. In 2016 she became a contracted yoga instructor for a private medical school specializing in Osteopathic Medicine and leads classes once a week to pre-med students with the focus on stress reduction for the students as well as offering suggestions on how yoga, meditation and breath-work can be integrated into their profession.

Elisa is known for her light-hearted approach and humor in addition to a strong knowledge of alignment, attention to body mechanics and creative sequencing. She is committed to constantly furthering her training in an effort to share the practices and how to apply them safely, physically and emotionally.

She recently completed a 50 hr. Advanced Teaching Module with Rodney Yee for Therapeutics, Restoratives and Anatomy/Physiology.
